There is just something about St. Patrick's Day I love...I guess maybe it is the time of the year that NEEDS some fun injected into it coupled with the magic mischief that leprechauns like to bring to the classroom!
My favorite part of the day is the hats that my students make and leave for Lucky the Leprechaun to shrink to his head size that night....I've always had the legend (completely fiction and made up by me in case you were wondering) written in poem form, but, this year, I decided to take it up a notch and put it in book form to bring the legend more to life for my students.
You can print it off in any size you wish (or project it on the big screen!), laminate it, and share it with your students! Then they'll be ready to decorate their Styrofoam cup to leave out for Lucky, so he can shrink it and bring them treats the next day on St. Patrick's Day!
I printed it off in 3 different sizes to see which I like best. I love the booklet size, but I know the kiddos will LOVE the one I enlarged onto 11x17 paper! Of course, regular size copy paper works just fine, too!
I also have lots of freebies that go along with this special activity click here to find all of them in my store.
Still unsure if you want to take the leap and do Lucky's Legend of the Shrnking Hat in your classroom, click here for LOTS more reading about it right here at Mrs. Miner's Monkey Business!
