Sharing a Great Freebie and a Great Story

I just have to share this with you!  One of my all-time favorite kinder blogs, Chalk Talk, posted this Polar Express Unit on her blog.  It is a must see and included many new ideas that I will be adding to our annual Polar Express Day as well!  In the comment section, a teacher mentions wrapping up a class set of bells with ribbons on them and putting them in the freezer.  Then, the custodian can deliver the freezing cold bells straight from the North Pole!  Love it!
The Polar Express Unit from April at Chalk Talk! 75 pages of great ideas!

I also wanted to share a book my friends and I read today on the "big screen" from the We Give Books online website I posted about yesterday.  I had never seen this book before, so I previewed it and found that it was perfect for reviewing story elements as well as making predictions:
You should have seen my students' eyes when tbey realized that the two page spread that they were looking at was the actual INSIDE of Santa's bag.  It was a perspective I had never considered, even as a child, and it was fun to watch it revealed for the first time with my students. I hope you enjoy it as much as us and seeing it on the big screen was even more magical.  The original Rudolph is up for tomorrow!
