Have you seen this blog? My friend (and former mentor teacher) KO led me to it and it is already a new, favorite children's book resource for me and I only wished I had found it sooner.
The author of this blog, Roxanne, writes the following on her About the Author page at her blog: "I've been working as an elementary school counselor since I obtained my Master's Degree in Education in 2005. Bibliotherapy has always been a passion of mine. Over the years I have witnessed the healing power of books in childrens' lives. When I first started as a counselor, I was saddled with old dusty curriculums and really freaky social skills books from the 70's and 80's. I've made it my mission to find contemporary books that help address the many issues children currently have to deal with. I handpick all of my books and will only post books I actually use and truly make a difference in a child's life. Currently, I am writing a bibliotherapy book on adoption that will be illustrated by my birth mother. My sincere hope is that you find the books I review in this blog to be as healing as I have found them to be and they assist you in helping the children in your life."
Amazing! Another educator sharing the work she is doing for the betterment of children. Check out all of the following topics that she has books listed for:
Follow this blog and refer back to it as you or your class are in the need of some bibliotherapy!
